Lately I have been getting interested in learning how to use a wah better. George Lynch turned me on to the theme song from Shaft. The guitar parts have a very unique wah sound.
It took me a while to find out what wah was used on this recording. I contacted the management company of Charlie 'Skip' Pitts who originally performed this piece to see if he could tell me what wah was used. I got a response a week or so later and was told it was a Maestro Boomerang. I quickly found one on eBay and snatched it up.
The wah arrived today and works great althought it looks like it has been through the ringer. It's noisy as hell but has a very distinct sound. It will be a nice addition to my growing pedal collection.
This has turned me on to more 70's music as well. I have been trying to learn other styles of music to get away from standard rock metal riffs. I have also been trying to learn Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix.
